Description

Season : 2018

Code : CRS854

Weight : 20KG

Stable and aggressive, the Instinct is our most versatile trail bike. Crafted by Rocky's staff members, the BC Edition features 20mm extra travel and wider tyres for even more trail slaying.

With 29" wheels and a wide range of RIDE-9™ adjustments, the all new Instinct is available in both carbon and alloy models. An all-new frame for 2018 pushes the rear travel to 140mm, increasing stiffness and tweaking the suspension kinematics. Despite the increase in travel, the new frame has noticeably more efficient pedaling, with better small-bump sensitivity and a host of next-generation features.

"This thing can rail any and all turns fluently, unlike some beasts of the same feather that require work to zip in and out of tight bends."

"With class-leading climbing performance, and the ability to tackle anything you point it down, the Instinct Carbon 90 BC Edition lives up to its name. No, it's not an enduro bike, despite its travel, and Rocky doesn't pitch it as one either - look at the Altitude if that's what you're after. That said, this thing is quite the package for someone who wants an all-arounder that's more capable than a trail bike but more pedal-able than a true enduro monster." PinkBike Review

    Pro Opinion

    Smoothlink™ suspension
Smoothlink™ suspension is efficient yet supple when you’re on the pedals and across a wide range of gears. It features a controlled end-stroke and a rate-curve that feels more capable than the travel would suggest. This four-bar suspension design philosophy is centred on ride characteristics; each bike platform we develop balances variables like anti-squat, axle path, chain growth, rate curve, anti-rise, etc. to achieve the legendary Rocky Mountain ride feel.

    Smoothwall™ carbon
Smoothwall™ carbon uses one of the world’s most sophisticated carbon processes to deliver industry leading stiffness-to-weight, ride quality, and durability. We eliminate excess resin and fibres by using rigid internal moulds instead of traditional air bladders. We then utilize different types of carbon in specific frame areas to maximize stiffness and impact resistance while minimizing overall weight.

    Size Specific tune
Size Specific Tune ensures that riders of all sizes get the right balance of small-bump compliance, mid-stroke support, and end-stroke progressiveness. Our design team does custom shock tunes based on real world field testing, and adjusts each tune for specific frame sizes.

    FORM™ alloy
FORM™ tubesets utilize premium materials to meet our strict requirements. Each FORM™ tube that we create is engineered for its specific purpose within the frame, ensuring optimized strength, weight, and ride quality.

    RIDE-9™ adjustment system
The RIDE-9™ adjustment system allows riders to quickly fine-tune their geometry and suspension with a pair of Allen keys. Nine configurations are possible thanks to two interlocking chips. Suspension and geometry setup are complex art forms with huge variations in rider style, preference, terrain, and ability. We do recommend the use of professional services, but we also believe that learning to dial in your own bike is the best way to fully understand its performance. Adjust your RIDE-9™ position for geometry before considering suspension setup, or variables like air pressure and shock compression. Make gradual, incremental changes, take notes, and be methodical. Don’t adjust in a hurry before a big ride. Take your time and enjoy the process. RIDE-9™ Setup Guides XC Element Trail Instinct Pipeline Altitude

Size Guides are a great way to help you find the right bike, but we always recommend visiting our store to view and sit on the bike in person.

This Size Guide is based on an average build, if you have shorter arms or longer legs for example you will need to consider this when purchasing a bike.

Stem length, Handlebar width and even Crank length can be changed to achieve the ideal riding position. A Bike Fit can help you achieve the most comfortable and efficient riding position.

    Save with the Cycle Scheme

Cycle to Work Schemes are a great way to save even more on our wide range of new bikes and accessories. Choose a bike, hire it for an agreed length of time from your employer using pre-tax salary sacrifice meaning you pay less tax and then snap it up for a fraction of its value at the end of the period.

We work closely with and accept vouchers from the following schemes:

    Cyclescheme.co.uk
    Bike2workscheme.co.uk
    Green commute initiative
    c2w support
    Cycleplus
    Halfords Cycle2work

We can also work directly with your company and help you set up your own internal Cycle to Work Scheme. This can be beneficial for both the company and the employees by streamlining the process for the HR department and enabling the employees to avoid paying any commission.

We'll also be able to build a close relationship with your company offering service packages and providing you with essential tools such as Pumps, Multi-Tools and Oils to keep at the office to encourage staff members to cycle more. If you'd like to know more about this please get in touch.

    Built, Prepared, Checked & Repacked

Each and every bike we send out goes through a thorough build process.

Once it's picked from our warehouse it's built by one of our trained mechanics to ensure that your bike is running to perfection.

Set up for you: let us know your weight and we'll set the suspension with the recommended pressures.

Once built, a second member of the build team takes over to check nothing has been missed before preparing it for packing.

Once in the packing bay, we remove the front wheel and handlebars from the stem and carefully wrap it to fit it securely into an export grade box.

Generally we try to reuse the box it came in, but if that's not up to scratch we'll pop your bike into one of our own export grade boxes.

    Tracked UK Delivery

All of our bikes are sent with TNT and can be tracked along their journey.

    #newbikeday your bike has arrived

Finally assembly once you've received the bike is quick and easy - usually just putting the front wheel in and re-attaching the handlebars with 4 allen key bolts. We provide an easy to follow step-by-step instruction sheet to help you along the way.

If in doubt we're always available at the other end of a phone line to talk you through it.

So I don't need to take it to my Local Bike Shop to have them assemble it?

No, our mechanics will have prepared it ready to ride. All you need to do is put the front wheel in (just as you would if you got a puncture mid ride) reattach the handlebars and adjust your saddle height.

    Delivery time

We know you're keen to receive your bike as quickly as possible, so aim to dispatch your order the following working day. During very busy periods there may be a 1-2 delay on dispatch but we'll make this clear straight away.

    International Delivery
